{"id":15226,"date":"2023-09-25T10:23:14","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T10:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amarenak.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=15226"},"modified":"2024-04-10T11:28:21","modified_gmt":"2024-04-10T11:28:21","slug":"bergara-trousers","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/amarenak.com\/blog\/en\/producto\/all\/bergara-trousers\/","title":{"rendered":"BERGARA TROUSERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h6><strong>The history<\/strong><\/h6>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 7\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 9\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The textile history in <strong>Bergara (Gipuzkoa) began in the 15th century<\/strong>, but in 1846 when the <strong>Fabrica de Hilados y Tejidos de Vergara<\/strong> (later Algodonera de San Antonio, then Tavexand now Evlox), was founded, it became the largest textile company in the history of the Basque Country.<\/p>\n<p>Their <strong>blue dyed cotton fabrics<\/strong> were unrivaled, and soon the whole town became a large factory of the famous <strong>\u201cBergara blue fabric\u201d<\/strong> used mainly <strong>for work wear.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the 60\u2019s the company specialized in De- nim fabric, and soon stood out worldwide with <strong>clients such as Levi\u2019s Strauss.<\/strong> The company continued to grow and gradually lost the con- nection with Bergara, and at the same time stopped producing its famous blue fabric.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;72px&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;14691&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;6128&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h6>Fabric and care<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Fabric composition: 100% organic cotton GOTS<\/li>\n<li>*The front printed part is 100% polyester<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cotton<\/strong> is the most common vegetable fabric. This is due to its many properties. It is a very breathable fiber, and absorbs moisture and sweat. Cotton fabrics are also very soft, resistant and pleasant to the touch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)<\/strong> is the world\u2019s leading standard for processing textiles made from organic fibers, which includes ecological and social criteria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Care:<\/strong> Machine wash at 30\u00ba with similar colors. In the first wash the garment may shrink.<br \/>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Traceability and Sustainability<\/strong><\/h6>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 10\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>In 2018 we started to investigate this story and discovered that the last company making the mythical Bergara workwear was going to close that year.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the <strong>patches that were made in these work clothes<\/strong>, we have taken advantage of t<strong>he textile remnants of our previous collections to customize this garment<\/strong> and give it a second life.<\/p>\n<h6>local and social production<\/h6>\n<p>The organic cotton fabric of this garment has been <strong>woven in Barcelona (Catalu\u00f1a, Spain)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 8\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>It has been made with love in one of our workshops in <strong>Zaragoza, less than 200km from our studio in San Sebastian.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The rest of the <strong>elements and trimmings are also locally sourced.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;14699&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>High-waisted unisex pants, fitted at the waist and inspired by those worn by men in the countryside and at sea, called &#8220;praka-mantala&#8221; for their characteristic front closure with buttons.
