The story<\/h6>\n

“Primus circumdedisti me”<\/em> you were the first to circumnavigate me. So reads the inscription on the coat of arms that Emperor Charles V gave to Juan Sebastian Elkano<\/strong> after completing the first circumnavigation of the Earth. In this way he recognized the feat of the Basque navigator, who arrived in Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda on September 6, 1522 aboard the ship Victoria, three years after setting sail, on August 10, 1519.<\/p>\n

500 years later<\/strong>, from Amarenak we want to remember and pay tribute to this character and the rest of the Basque sailors of the sixteenth century, returning to our days and to our closets some of his clothes.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”11245″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”11241″ img_size=”large”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

  • Fabric composition: 50% cotton 50% polyester<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Cotton<\/strong> is the most common vegetable fabric. This is due to its many properties. It is a very breathable fiber, and absorbs moisture and sweat. Cotton fabrics are also very soft, resistant and pleasant to the touch.<\/p>\n

    Care:<\/strong> It is recommended not to use on rainy days or wet floors. Clean specific areas by hand and with little water. Let dry in a dry and ventilated place.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    Traceability and Sustainability<\/h6>\n

    The print has been created by L\u00ebl\u00eb Prints<\/strong> (Leire Larretxea, San Sebastian), specialized in original and striking prints, full of flowers and birds and above all, with large doses of color<\/strong>. For this design she has been inspired by the flowers and botanical drawings of cloves, pepper, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, the valuable spices collected by the Magellan-Elkano expedition in the Moluccas Islands<\/strong>, known as the Spice Islands.<\/p>\n

    This espadrille has been handcrafted<\/strong> with great care by Espartin<\/strong>. This store specializes in traditional espadrille handmade by artisans from the Basque Country<\/strong> and sewn by hand. Its main objective has been to manufacture a comfortable and quality footwear<\/strong> with natural and ecological fabrics.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”11237″ img_size=”large”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    The floral print of the ELKANO collection has been created by L\u00ebl\u00eb prints and is inspired by the spices collected during the Magellan-Elkano expedition (1519-1522).<\/p>\n
